      It certainly punches out a lot of bass, but it also suffers from audible mains hum. This may be just my system, but it's a bit annoying. Also at low volumes, the auto power control kept switching on and off - not a problem if you normally use high volumes, so I just kept the power on all the time and used a separate switched socket to power the sub when watching movies.
      The good thing is that when using the stereo for music, I don't use the sub - the passive filter does not affect the normal speakers.
