The Duronic PS609 automatic paper shredder is ideal if you have large amounts of paper to shred. It can shred paper in two ways: manually 6-9 sheets can be fed into the front slot and the automatic blades will shred the paper. This front slot can also shred one bank card at a time.

This one was recommended to me by a friend. I shredded A4 sheets 5 at a time for several periods of 30 minutes or so without any jamming or thermal cut-outs. It's quiet, reasonably fast, shreds into tiny pieces and has a large storage bin.

The 6.4 kg shredder stands on 4 easily inserted castors that make it very easy to wheel across the floor ~ it is wise to warn people how easy it moves to those not aware! Due to the weight distribution, it can also tilt on an uneven floor, so it is best to push it from the side, if moving, in my experience. Without the castors, the shredder is not the easiest to move, I find.

For me, it is an added bonus to be able to lift out the whole bin for emptying, rather than lift the mechanism, which I had to do on my old one. HANDY NOTE: I find that the bin contents tip easily into an Amazon E36-size cardboard box (image below refers).

The boxed shredder is heavy on arrival…8.5Kg printed on the box side of the one I received. However, the cardboard packaging is sturdy with an internal cardboard liner box to aid safe transit. The 6.4 kg shredder stands on 4 easily inserted castors that make it very easy to wheel across the floor ~ it is wise to warn people how easy it moves to those not aware! Due to the weight distribution, it can also tilt on an uneven floor, so it is best to push it from the side, if moving, in my experience. Without the castors, the shredder is not the easiest to move, I find.
There is an odd plasticky type odour out of the box, which did hang around for a fair few days, in my experience.
Like me, the shredder simply stops when it has had enough automatically(!), which is a safety feature. It also stops when the 14 LITRE CAPACITY BIN is full. There can be residue outside of it, i.e. in the shredder shell, which can get dusty, as does the bin.
The flex housing prevents the shredder back from being flush with a wall, but it is still easy to knock the red coloured, rocker POWER SWITCH (OFF/ON) at the back left of the machine, also in my experience. The READY light at the front shows green when the bin is correctly in situ. The FORWARD & REVERSE switch is at the front.
It comes complete with a straightforward, multi-lingual INSTRUCTION pamphlet that includes WARRANTY (1 YEAR).
I can forgive the misspelling of 'SHREEDER' on the top of the machine I received, for it has proved to be a very handy addition to the ‘filing system’, as the data sensitive document boxes diminish in quantity and I am starting to see the office floor again!
This is a Which? recommended shredder and I can see why. Easy to assemble and just works well without any drama or issue. The size it cuts things to is so small never going to reassemble the data in a sensible way.
Much quieter than my previous defunct shredder. Cuts into really small pieces that take up little room in the container. Quite compact, really pleased.

I've worked a lot of shredders to death over the years, and when I had to replace the last one, I decided to try this mini shredder to free up some space. As long as you're not trying to shred a filing cabinet's worth of incriminating evidence before the Feds kick the door down, it'll handle most people's needs for individual use. It's fast, it fits anywhere, and it's easier to empty than a full-sized one. The container holds a lot more than you'd expect, too Okay, the slot's narrow, so you have to fold larger sheets of paper lengthwise, but it does the job and it shreds stuff thoroughly into small confetti. The only drawback is that it's a bit difficult to lift the top off because the sides are flush with the container, there's nothing to grip, and it's heavy. I suppose you could lift it by the sliding cover, but I think that's asking for trouble. A lip on each side or a handle and it'd be perfect.
The box came a bit damaged but there was another undamaged box inside the damaged one so the shredder was perfectly fine; that's more of an issue with Amazon delivery. The shredder was easy to fit (just had to pop the 4 wheels in). It's a fair size and can fit 60-100 pages shredded before you need to empty it. I was a little disappointed when i saw one small shredded piece of paper inside the bin as this means I was sent a shredder which had already been used by someone else and returned. However, everything is working fine, no damage, no issues at all so I've kept it. (we have all returned stuff before which would be passed to other!). The microshredding is great and gives you that extra peace of mind. The wheels means it's easy to manoeuvre and stow away, and you can remove the wheels if you want to place it on a table. It shreds cards as described, and I also tried to keep it running for longer than 3 min and I had no issues. I also tried more than 8 papers and it still worked fine (although I would advise to follow the given instructions). Overall, it does exactly what it says and I'm very happy!
