Much better to have a camera plugged into the mains than one, or a doorbell, that runs on batteries. When it’s on the mains it work as it should all the time, not just some of the time. Too much other stuff in life than to have to worry about one more battery to replace.

I bought this product to replace an old security light in the back garden, so it wasn't too difficult to install . Being able to use the existing wiring , I managed it myself . After installation I connected the Ring floodlight cam wired plus to my samsung tablet ( phone needs upgrading ) and to alexa which I found surprisingly easy to do ( I'm 61 ) just follow the instructions from the ring app . So , up and running and from the comfort of my bedroom I can watch live view , study events of the day or check through any notifications , all from a friendly user interface and dashboard with lots of options to choose from to help personalise . I particularly like the siren feature, which can be operated if need be at the touch of a button . Sound quality is decent from outside coming in , but it seems distorted if I wanted to talk to someone outside . Fortunately, I do not need this much in the back garden .
The other fault I have is that I installed the cam too close to my Boiler outlet pipe , and if the central heating is on then I get a " person detected " alert from the plumes of steam activating the sensors . There is a snooze button for the alerts which doesn't compromise the recording facility though , so I use this sometimes.
The spotlights are quite bright but again these can be adjusted and the picture quality is very good .All in all I'm very pleased with the Ring Floodlight Cam wired plus , and when my free 30 day trial is up I won't mind paying the small monthly charge to keep the recordings active as I now have peace of mind at night .

I have got two of these at high level, front and back of house. They are the best cameras I own from the Ring range. They are hard wired meaning you aren’t constantly recharging them. They have floodlights which act as a great deterrent for any potential criminal activity. They connect really well and easily to my home WiFi, and are really stable. There is sometimes a short delay getting to the live view but that’s the case with all of the cameras I’ve used. The picture quality is sufficient I feel, even at night. The sound capture is also very good. It is a decent size to be discreet but also be visible.
I actually was able to help a neighbour some few houses down who was driven into, and I shared the video as evidence which they appreciated.
Overall I have no regrets buying this, especially during the regular ring sales. Well done Ring!

Ho acquistato questo prodotto ormai da un anno, mi sono trasferito a inizio 2023 nella mia attuale abitazione e ho cercato a lungo un sistema di sicurezza pratico, completo e comodo da utilizzare.

Ho valutato diversi marchi e richiesto vari preventivi, alla fine ho trovato un offerta per il kit XL di Ring e me ne sono innamorato.

Del kit parlo in un’altra recensione, ora vi racconto la mia esperienza con questa telecamera.

Partiamo dal fatto che l’ho acquistata scontata, a circa 139€. Non è poco per uno strumento del genere ma mi sentivo, per la mia sicurezza e quella della casa, di spendere una cifra del genere considerando anche il risparmio avuto acquistando il sistema Ring.

La videocamera appare subito molto solida, bellissima esteticamente e da la sensazione di un prodotto Premium.
L’installazione è stata semplice e la connessione, nonostante il modem non sia proprio vicino alla periferica, non solo è stabile ma è di ottima qualità.

La videocamera ha un ottima qualità video, sia di giorno che di notte, è possibile zoommare la ripresa digitalmente ed è possibile non solo parlare attraverso il microfono integrato ma anche far scattare una sirena interna al dispositivo.

È veramente tanto reattiva, questa reattività non solo fa ricevere molte notifiche ma accende spesso le fortissime luci integrate del dispositivo.
Non vi preoccupate comunque, con un po’ di pazienza è tutto regolabile dall’app limitando l’area di lavoro della videocamera ma anche la reattività stessa del dispositivo.

Io personalmente l’ho installata in balcone in modo che se qualcuno riesce a salire abbiamo modo di avere non solo una registrazione ma un occhio fisso sull’esterno.
Altra comodità è che le luci integrate possono essere regolate per accendersi al passaggio di persone e questo ha creato una comoda luce automatica ogni volta che usciamo a prendere qualcosa da fuori.

Personalmente sono davvero soddisfatto, è capitato solo 1 volta, per qualche minuto, che la videocamera non comunicasse con il sistema ma si è sistemato da solo.

Ricordo solo che la videocamera va attaccata a una corrente, non ha batterie e quindi non funziona autonomamente.

Leider habe ich sie aus einem bestimmten Grund (dazu später mehr) nicht in Gebrauch nehmen können, doch die Eindrücke von der Verarbeitung und Qualität möchte ich unbedingt teilen.

Verarbeitung und Qualität

Die Verarbeitungsqualität dieser Kamera hat mich wirklich umgehauen. Sie ist massiv, schwer und extrem hochwertig verarbeitet. Schon beim Auspacken merkt man, dass man hier ein Produkt in den Händen hält, das auf einem ganz anderen Niveau liegt als die meisten Smart-Home-Kameras, die ich bisher ausprobiert habe. Es wirkt alles durchdacht, robust und langlebig – kurzum: bombastisch.

Die LEDs der Kamera wirken ebenfalls hervorragend verarbeitet und scheinen eine beeindruckende Helligkeit zu bieten, auch wenn ich das in der Praxis leider nicht testen konnte. Das gesamte Gerät vermittelt das Gefühl, dass es auch unter widrigen Bedingungen problemlos seinen Dienst tun würde.

Einsatzmöglichkeiten und Anschluss

Hier kommt allerdings der Knackpunkt: Die Kamera wird über eine fest verdrahtete Installation angeschlossen – also wie eine Decken- oder Wandleuchte direkt an die Stromkabel. Das ist sicherlich für viele kein Problem und hat den Vorteil, dass die Installation aufgeräumt und dauerhaft ist. Für meine Situation ist das jedoch ein großes Manko. Ich hatte gehofft, die Kamera einfach per Schuko-Stecker (also klassischem Steckdosenstecker) anschließen zu können. Leider ist das nicht der Fall, und in meiner Garage habe ich aktuell keine freien Kabelanschlüsse, sondern nur Steckdosen.

Fazit

Obwohl ich die Kamera nicht aktiv in Betrieb nehmen konnte, kann ich ihre Verarbeitungsqualität und den optischen Eindruck nur in den höchsten Tönen loben. Wer eine hochwertige, massive und durchdachte Sicherheitskamera sucht und keine Probleme damit hat, sie fest zu verdrahten, sollte hier definitiv zuschlagen. Die Qualität rechtfertigt den Preis auf jeden Fall.

Für mich persönlich ist es aktuell leider keine Option, weshalb ich sie schweren Herzens zurückschicken muss. Allerdings bin ich mir sehr sicher, dass ich sie in Zukunft erneut bestellen werde, sobald ich die passenden Voraussetzungen für den Anschluss geschaffen habe. Dieses Produkt liegen zu lassen, wäre einfach zu schade. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die eine solche Installation in Betracht ziehen können.
