Great camera
I have two of these now, they are great. The night vision is good but with the light on it makes a huge difference. With the freezing temperatures and torrential rain of this winter they haven’t been fazed and haven’t blur the pictures. I would highly recommended these and with the subscription you get absolute peace of mind that the house is covered.

    The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro is an excellent security camera with great image quality, motion detection, and useful smart features. It provides clear footage, reliable alerts, and good night vision, making it a solid choice for home security.

    However, the solar panel charging in the UK’s climate is not very effective. Cloudy days significantly reduce charging efficiency, meaning the camera may not stay powered for long. For consistent performance, it’s better to plug it into a power outlet or use the solar panel with a smaller camera that requires less energy.

    That said, when properly powered, this camera is a fantastic option for enhancing home security.

    We got this as some neighbourhood kids started playing down OUR driveway, around the cars, and there was damage. We needed to have proof so opted for this Ring device as we already have a Ring video doorbell. We chose this over the floodlight cam because it was a smaller, compact and less obtrusive device, that doesnt stand out too much at the front of the house. Set up for the camera was really easy, apart from needing a ladder to locate it at an appropriate height. Connected easily using a hard wiring kit (so we don't have to change out a battery). Connected to the WiFi, and although it says it has poor signal, it has caught everything every time, in clear and crisp video and no lag or missed spots. As well as the usual 'motion sensor' zones, which are completely customisable, there are two 'privacy' zones that can be set up where needed, so we are not recording our neighbours coming in and out of their property. Would be great if the shape of the privacy zone could be changed like the motion sensor, rather than just a square or rectangle, as the area we needed covering is actually triangular, so we ended up covering areas that didn't need it (fence) to ensure the areas needed were covered. Also have the audio recording switched off so we don't record neighbours private conversations. Great quality night vision recording. The spotlight isn't going to light up the top of the garden but it does what it needs to and doesn't cause flaring on the camera. Comes on in a nano second after dark, with no lag. Very happy with it and are looking to get another to replace our unbranded 'free to access with adverts' one round the back of the house.

    Downside is that in order to record video/photos and store for 30 days you need a subscription to a Ring plan. If you just have one item it is under £50 for the year. However, as this is the second item we had to increase our plan and it is now coming in at £100 for the year, but they did say that if we add another item there will be no further charge. If you are happy to pay the subscription and want the peace of mind of life time warranty AND replacement if stolen (police crime report required), it is definitely worth a look. We are certainly very happy with it.

    I bought this camera to cover our garden. It has a a good picture, both with lights and in infrared, and a good field of view.
    However, it only comes with one rechargeable battery. I bought a second battery as I found the lights used a lot of power when there's regular activity at night, e.g. cats and foxes.
    Even with two batteries installed I eventually got fed up of having to charge one of them every couple of weeks, so I bought a Ring solar panel for it.
    The solar panel works amazingly well, charging both batteries from 65% to 100% in a couple of days of March sunshine, even with all the overnight activity.
    So if buying this spotlight cam, it's probably a good idea to buy the solar panel instead of a second battery. There's only a few quid difference in price between the two but the solar panel should mean theres rarely a need to recharge the battery at all.

    This was easy to set up, a couple of screws and a charge of the battery and your away. It’s a good size and with the solar panel I’ve not needed to charge it so the battery life is great. The picture qualities good and I can see everything. With the functionality of a schedule you choose when you want to start the lights and record which also saves power. Only slight down side is the lights are not that bright but the low light capability means it see clearly.

    En tant que professionnel de la vidéosurveillance, je suis très exigeant sur le matériel.
    J’ai installé cette Ring Spotlight Plus (modèle sans fil, sur batterie), avec panneau solaire 6W et seconde batterie, et le résultat est tout simplement exceptionnel.

    • Installation simple et rapide : réglages accessibles à tous via l’application Ring, fluide et complète.
    • Autonomie illimitée : avec un panneau solaire 6W, les batteries ne descendent jamais, même en hiver.
    • Qualité vidéo excellente, de jour comme de nuit (grâce au projecteur LED et à la vision nocturne en couleur).
    • Réactivité bluffante : détection de mouvement rapide, alertes instantanées et personnalisables.
    • Cloud ultra sécurisé : fini le risque de vol des enregistrements ! Même si la caméra est arrachée, les images sont stockées en ligne, accessibles immédiatement.
    • Abonnement abordable : 10 €/mois pour un nombre illimité de caméras, stockage dans le cloud + protection contre le vol (remplacement gratuit de l’appareil en cas de vol).
    • Écosystème Ring très bien pensé : gestion multi-caméras, notifications centralisées, application fluide, compatibilité Alexa et intégration facile dans une maison connectée.

    🔁 Une vraie alternative aux systèmes pro

    J’ai même remplacé certaines caméras PoE professionnelles par cette solution Ring, pour des clients exigeants.
