It is very bright so you'd have to be careful where you place it.

Bought this to use as an addition to the lighting setup in my band and it works great. A nice solid metal cased unit, a mounting bracket to put on a rack or stand, remote control and mains power (cable is included).

This light has LED, UV and Laser lights which can be used individually or altogether, sequenced from the remote or a button on the unit itself. In addition it can be connected by DMX cable to other lighting units or an external controller (our band isn't quite that advanced yet!)

The most effective lights are the lasers - these are animated and project changing patterns on the celining/wall/floor, depending on how it is positioned. We use the unit behind us, quite low down pointing at about 45degrees (just propped up on its bracket) and we have it set on auto/sound activated.

As you can see from the photos/video clip, it's really effective with a smoke/fog machine which generates the great laser beams. But without smoke the projected patterns are really good too and can cover a large area.

There are lots of cheap liittle units (we have a few of these too), but they are often plastic and get easily broken. This unit is a little more expensive, but it is certainly robust enough to being used by a busy band. It also has many more features including professional capabilities. It's a really great addition to our setup.

These lights are brilliant for the money, and I would recommend them.
However, the microphone used to sync the light display to the “beat” is not sensitive enough in my opinion. I could only get it to work properly by placing the unit close to a speaker but that is not the best position for the display in my setup. It would a great improvement have a microphone sensitivity control. Still, the light display is still good without the beat sync.
Another slight annoyance is that the remote control interacts with some other remotely controlled products and vice versa.
Combined with a fog machine these lights are outstanding and I still recommend them. However, I only give it 4 stars because of the issues mentioned above.
