Amazing router, easy to set up and has an lcd screen on top to show connected devices and network usage. This thing even tells you the weather, I'm not kidding. Has a lovely gun metal grey finish and looks like a mini Ps5. I'm glad I purchased this little beauty. 10/10 from me.

I've always struggled with Mesh systems and plug in wifi extenders. Wifi dead spots in old houses are a problem many of us face. I've struggled to get signal to my home office on the top floor of our old victorian house. In my old house, we had a newly wired loft extension and network powerlines worked wonders, but in our new house, the wiring must be routed via narnia because i just cant get the powerlines to connect. Have tried every type of plug in wifi extender with very poor results. Most routers also work as wifi repeaters (check before you buy), including this one. Plug it in, follow the quick start guide, connect to the router over wifi, chose "wifi repeater" in the options and it will then identify your wifi - this one is so powerful, i had about 100 networks from everyone in the street identified. It will then ask you to enter the password from the network you want to repeat, then it reboots and your done. It works flawless and is dual band - both 2 and 5g which is ideal for me. Prior to setting this up, i had a wobbly two bar signal in my office, making zoom and team meetings subject to freezes and "sorry bad connection, turning camera off" - but using this as a wifi repeater, now have full signal strength connection, and on speed test, its the same upload and download speed as on the main wifi network in the house downstairs, so there is seemingly no drop in speed using the repeated signal. Don't know why anyone would buy a plug in type socket extender when a router is as easy to set up and about 50 x more powerful. We don;'t have full fibre yet, so our max speeds are 60-80 mbps download, this gives me a constant 50 to 65 mbps at my desk, and crucially 15-25 mbps stable upload speed (necessary for two way video calls) which is identical to what i get next to the main wifi router downstairs. Its cheap, fast enough for my needs, idiot proof to set up and works. Try it and don't waste money on other extenders without trying this in repeater mode first.

Until now, I have always been buying the big names and very expensive routers, but lately they all die on me one after another. And with the wife complaining and blaming :-) , I have decided to try something cheaper and found this Wavlink. I am now a big big fan and won't ever go back to the expensive product. It has a nice screen display on top with all the information you need to know without needing to log on. The signal strength is much stronger than the big names i used to have. It is incredibly easy to install. It even set itself up as an access point like that i wanted without the need to set it up. Nice design without all the antennas sticking out everywhere. I do recommend this to anyone. ultra quiet as well and to top it up it also has a USB that you can plug in a drive as a NAS. Simply an amazing product at a bargain price. I bought 2 of them and will buy some more in the future if needed.

Absolute waste of time and money.

Despite repeatedly trying to follow the set-up instructions, we decided to call it a day and were that frustrated and wound up at if failing to do what we bought it to do and physically threw this piece of garbage in the bin.

We even tried the support page options, but once again abject failure.

Over 5 hours of messing around and getting nowhere with it, I felt utterly sick at being ripped off! The only saving grace was that I didn't pay full price and got it on the prime day deal, but still an awful bit of kit that genuinely failed to fulfill its purpose.

Random messages / faults kept flashing up on the actual router.

We actually bought it to replace the one provided by our broadband provider (because the signal kept dropping every now and then) and when we set that one up it was up and running in less than 10 minutes.

I'd have no hesitation in saying save your money and do your upmost to avoid this brand - clearly zero quality control if this sort of garbage is being produced in their factory.

It's left me with such a bad impression of this brand, I won't even ask for a refund because I doubt they'd play fair, so lesson learned...Hence the reason it ended up in the most productive place since it was manufactured; the bin!

I had a TP Link Mains Extender but only has one wifi connection but two Ethernet ones. This was on sale for £28 so thought I would give it a try. Setup really easy in Bridge mode took two minutes. Decent wifi range as good as my Significantly dearer routers, same speed etc.

All in all a pleasant surprise as was not expecting much. Good build quality Achieved the desired result of extending network past existing router range at the other end of the house/garden. Giving multiple wifi connections.

In most areas, this item is really good. 4 gigabit ports, high power wifi (even though no external antenna), but, as far as I can tell, the software that runs on this device is very lacking. What is worst of all (and the reason for 3 stars) is that the firmware is capped to only allow 10 static IP addresses to be assigned. I cannot see this mentioned anywhere in the docs, and for something that is sold as a "high end" product, seems a bizarre and decision.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy dual band for use as a repeater

This is dead simple and works well. $30 for a pretty solid "repeater." If you're just trying to extend wifi coverage, this will do it as an AP (access point) as a repeater. It's setup is dead simple, anyone can do it, just turn it on, access it from a browser, and it immediately takes you through a wizard to setup as a normal router or as a repeater (access point) and just enter the prompted network info and reboot. Now its a repeater. Tested and works great 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I use these outside in sheds to have wifi coverage from the house to the whole yard (without doing mesh).

Well, I was having trouble getting a steady signal from my internet provider router because it was located in one of the rooms where the internet port was located, so I had to look for a modem that could help in relaying the signal across the apartment. This modem ticked all the boxes, including ease of installation, signal strength, and a reasonable price tag. After initial set up, I did though encounter a single anomaly where I was unable to connect to it, probably conflict of IP address issue with Internet provider router, but eventually with a quick troubleshooting using the manual by restarting the modem, everything returned to normal. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a reasonably priced router to boost your internt across your residence

Reviewed in the United States on 3 October 2021
I know absolutely nothing about technology, except that I need it to function in my everyday life. My previous internet session was a nightmare, in that the wireless would just randomly drop out or be extremely slow. So I took a shot in the dark with purchasing a wifi router separately from the cable company- who, by the way, was asking a ridiculous amount of money for "their compatible" version (Love how these companies like to throw in that routers are not compatible to MAKE you purchase one from them- *insert sarcastic tone*).

So because of the threats made by the cable company, my lack of technological wisdom, & already heightened annoyance with my previous router (from cable company by the way), I was extremely skeptical about purchasing a router that was a fraction of the cost of the cable companies... but I have a small apt and not running a business out of it that would have 20+ devices struggling to connect to the wifi. So I went for it.

      **Fast forward 2 months**

No issues. None. SUPER EASY set up (as in plug in and turn on). And this might seem crazy but have had my tablet, phone and computer plus one more computer hooked up to the wifi and also had no issues.

Moral of the story: sometimes if you just take a chance, you'll find out the world will not end and your life may become a little easier.

I installed Openwrt WL-WN530HG4 on this router and uses it as an AP with VLAN isolation on the gigabit WAN port. It works well and stable. The upcoming Openwrt-21.02 release will support this device.

The 4 LAN ports are 100Mbps, so it will be a limit if you connect it to PC wired or downstream APs. The 5G Wifi works fine to mobile devices/laptops at my 200Mbps internet. The chipset is MediaTek MT7620A, 580MHz MIPS core. The on board memory is 8GB+64GB. Enough for an AP.
