- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 March 2025Style Name: BP 450 AW II - OldVerified PurchaseI have previously had a number of Lowepro camera bags and the quality is always superb. My first backpack-type was the Pro Trekker 650 AW I (I think that is the model number) which is a huge pack allowing the carrying of most of my kit. The only issue is that as I get older I cannot carry all of the kit any more. I now use it more for storage and as a 'safe haven' for kit I have with me in the car but not out on walks.
I have been using a cheaper brand for a couple of years which is now starting to fail. With this in mind I bought the ProTactic 450 AW II. This is superbly made, comes with a rain cover, as do most Lowepro bags, a tripod foot holder which you can place anywhere on the bag, and extra small pouches that will fit on the outside of the bag. It also contains a couple of strong straps that can be placed where required.
You can access from the top and either side for individual cameras/lenses, or from the rear for access to the whole internal structure. Zips are large and string. The padded dividers are strong and useful and can be placed to your liking within the large interior.
It is strong, well padded to protect your kit and very functional. What is more I can carry enough kit needed for whatever trip I am on while not breaking my back. There is an updated version of this bag available now, but for the price difference I do not see the point of paying £100 more for what seems like little extra. Because of the new version this one is now available at a very good price.
Overall, a superb bag which I cannot recommend highly enough.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 April 2025Style Name: BP 450 AW III - NewVerified PurchaseI’ve upgraded from the 350,AW2 and it was worth the extra money spent this is much bigger unit with upgraded curved partitions. It easily takes a Nikon Z9 with the 180-600 attached (not including the lens hood). Lots more storage on the outside, and the access points are huge so it’s easy to get to equipment quickly. There is only one negative and that’s with the waist strap. My 350 has vip up storage on waist strap snd I used them on. Regular basis, but these are missing in the 450-3. But other than that it’s a great piece of kit. It’s not cheap but neither is the equipment that I put in it. The padding is excellent and the whole pack is extremely well made
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 December 2024Style Name: BP 450 AW II - OldVerified PurchaseI bit the bullet and finally bought a decent purpose designed camera backpack after upgrading my photography gear & having multiple lenses. This fits my Canon R6ii with attached grip, & an RF200-800 attached. Also in the bag is my MacBook Pro 16”laptop, RF 100-500L, RF 70-200L & RF 24-105L lenses, multiple batteries, memory card storage wallets, card readers, binoculars, Peak Design slide strap, Outdoor Photography Gear Neoprene covers & Waterproof camera/lens cover, cleaning gear, connecting/charging leads, power bank & business cards, amongst other bits I’ve no doubt forgot to mention. A really well made backpack, good quality & comfortable to wear all day out in the field with a 3LT Winston CF tripod & Gimbal attached.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2023Style Name: BP 450 AW II - OldVerified PurchaseThe first Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW II Black Pro Modular Backpack, which I received, had a material defect along the main zip and was also missing some accessories. After much wrangling, Amazon eventually replaced it with a flawless replacement, which works very well and is highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 June 2024Style Name: BP 450 AW II - OldVerified PurchaseQuick access to my camera with a 28-70F2 lens which is a beast. Plenty of customisable storage. Carry two cameras, prime and back up, with 28-70, 70-200, 100-400 lens, charger, batteries, microphone and still space for my lunch when out and about. Even strap my tripod and water bottle to the side no problem. Love the security aspect too, i.e. you need to remove bag to open up from behind. Bar the side access areas to get to the camera in need it quick situations. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, Sturdy, and Versatile! The closest to a perfect camera backpack
Style Name: BP 450 AW II - OldVerified PurchaseI had the first LowePro ProTactic 450 AW and couldn't think of another bag that would be a better upgrade than the newer version of the same bag. I carry the bag around almost daily with all of my gear weighing in close to 30 lbs. After months of use, there is no visible signs of wear or issues.
Gear: I'm able to fit nearly all of my daily camera gear in this bag, which makes it perfect for daily work. The ability to configure the dividers in the bag is excellent. To me, this is better than the Peak Design or the Nomadic bags because you don't have to buy additional bags to put in your main bag to organize things. Instead, everything is so accessible in this one bag. You can configure the two side openings to have access to two different items without taking the bag off your back. This is super useful all the time, whether I'm skiing, hiking, or working where I don't want to set my bag in the dirt. I have my Sony a7 with 24-70GM accessible on one side and my DJI Mavic 3 on the other.
My full gear list that I'm able to fit in this one bag all at once includes:
- Sony a7 with 24-70mm GM attached
- A second lens (usually my Sony 16-35mm)
- A zoom lens (70-200)
- DJI Mavic 3
- DJI Pro Controller
- DJI Mavic 3 battery, the three battery charger and the charging block
- DJI Mic 2 set with case
- Insta 360
- Monopod/selfie stick for Insta 360
- 2 VND filers in their protective cases
- Anker 20,000 mAh battery pack
- 16" laptop and large laptop charging brick
- Misc. cables and a few additional charging blocks
- And my snacks, business cards, and pens in the small upper side pockets.
All of this in one bag and it is barely small enough to be a "personal item" under the seat on a flight! If you need additional space, you can also add extra items on the outside mesh of the bag. The configurations are excellent and the waist strap even can be removed and used to attach smaller bags if you're running around during a shoot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ce sac est le meilleur!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lo Zaino Perfetto!!!
